I'm slightly in awe of the kiwis... Day 17

Seemingly without thinking about it, the people of New Zealand are more eco-friendly than the United States could ever hope to be. They drive very small cars, I've even seen a few Smart Cars, which not only are eco-friendly by default, as they create as few emissions as possible, but they also come in hybrid and electric models. Anyways, I did see one car that surprised me, as it was really big, but those are few and far between, and they are still smaller than the Yukon by quite a bit. In addition to small cars, most people own a bike and actually use it for transport, those who don't have bikes use the bus system. When you go shopping, you see countless people carrying canvas shopping bags instead of using a bunch of plastic bags. In addition to being easy on the environment, they are easier to carry and double as a tote. These are just some of the things that people in New Zealand do to counter act what is happening to our world. Maybe we should take note.
