Sometimes you need to shave in the car... Day 16

Out of the thousands of students at Canterbury, two have classes on Friday mornings, my roommate Hiren and myself. I had both Acoustics & Phonetics and Intro to Audiology this morning. Both were slightly enjoyable, although it is quite nerve racking when you attempt to find your class, because much like they do in the Harry Potter books, your classrooms move around quite a bit. Around noon, I stopped by the Spice Rack, an Indian/Chinese restaurant on campus, and picked up three vegetable Pakura, which are a combination of spring rolls and hush puppies. Quite nice actually... but more importantly, they are CHEAP. $1.50 NZ for 3 of them. Half an hour later I was on a bus with Ashley and Angie to New Brighton. Today's Challenge? Boogie boarding. We got to the surf shop and rented the boards for $5 per two hours. They added rash guards at no extra cost, which was very kind, as they keep you from getting ripped up and provide an extra, albeit thin, layer of warmth in the cold water. I've never found something that I am so horrible at and yet enjoy so much. It is a lot harder than I expected, but it is heaps of fun. I had to quit after an hour for many reasons. 1) My board had taken a liking to smacking me in the face, so my nose was throbbing. 2) My arm bent itself in a most peculiar way and was beginning to hurt. 3) I had sand in my eyes. But most importantly, 4) I got pinched by a crab and it freaked me out... and drew a little bit of blood. Good thing I'm a trooper.

After a long and nauseating bus ride, we made it back in one piece, so to speak. Around 6:00pm, my roommate and I went to Woolworths to get some groceries. Somehow Nutella ended up in my basket... Anyways, on the way there, I looked at a car and found that there was a girl shaving her legs in it, like it was no big deal. Maybe it is customary to do that when you arrive in a foreign country...

She could've been shaving something QUITE else. And using your Nutella as the cream. Count your blessings.
